Three detained in explosion case : ATS

Mumbai, May 3 (UNI) Three people were detained for questioning in connection with a blast, which occurred in a chawl at Ghatkopar in eastern suburbs yesterday, claiming one live.

The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) officials said here today that three people, who were roomates of deceased Rama Sindhuram Bharati (25) were detained for questioning in connection with the blast that occurred at 1330 hrs in the room number five of Sarang Chawl at Ghatkoper, in which they were staying together. No arrest has been made in this connection yet as they were just detained for questioning.

At the time of the blast, the room was locked from outside, the fire brigade personnel broke open the door and found a man lying dead.

The officials are suspecting that the deceased, Rama, was making bombs. He must have been working on a detonator and this could have triggered the explosion.

The police also recovered three fake Indian passports from the room, the sources added.
