SGPC chief condoles Mahajan's death

Amritsar, May 3 (UNI) Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar today condoled the death of BJP General Secretary Pramod Mahajan who passed away at the Hinduja hospital in Mumbai.

In a statement issued here Mr Makkar said Mr Mahajan was a far sighted leader with a vision and perception. The country has lost a charismatic leader, he said.

Mr Makkar conveyed his grief and sorrow to the bereaved family.

Former test cricketer and BJP MP from Amritsar Navjot Singh Sidhu also condoled the death of Mr Mahajan. Mr Sidhu was here to make preparations for party president Rajnath Singh's 'rath yatra' which has been abandoned following the news of Mr Mahajan's death.
