Written by: Staff

Yanam, May 3 (UNI) Polling in all the 15 booths and six auxilaries are in progress and no untoward incident was reported so far, according to Yanam Deputy Collector and Returning Officer L Kumar.

Mr Kumar told UNI, 59.02 per cent of the total 18,737 voters exercised their franchise at 1300 hrs and long queues were still seen in front of the booths.

Meanwhile, some of the voters felt that they had to wait for a long time, as the process was getting delayed because of photo-session and signature.

A voter, who went in a queue at 1100 hrs was yet to exercise his franchise, because of the compulsory process. The polling is by and large peaceful, he added.
