Minor gangraped, 4 arrested

New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) A minor girl was allegedly gangraped by five people in Subzi Mandi area of North Delhi after being lured from close to her home.

Four boys, all minors, have been arrested in this connection, according to DCP (North) Sunil Garg.

''The fifth accused involved in the Monday night incident is being identified.'' A case has been registered at Subzi Mandi police station, he said.

''The 17-year-old, who lived in the slums of Malkaganj in Subzi Mandi area, was lured by the accused, taken to a room and raped.'' The boys, aged between 16-17 and who also lived in the nearby slums, did petty jobs, said the DCP.

''The girl often fumbled while describing the incident and did not seem to be in a balanced state of mind.'' She was taken to a rented room of one of the accused on Monday night and was raped there, he added.

Meanwhile, sources said the accused, who hailed from nearby areas, included the 'chowkidar' of a prominent Delhi University college.

However, the area DCP denied this.

The victim's mother works as a maid servant in Malkaganj area.
