MCX records highest Physical Delivery in Cardamom
Mumbai, May 3 (UNI) Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded highest physical deliveries of cardamom in its just concluded April 2006 contract. The total deliveries of cardamom recorded for this contract were 138 quintals, according to a release issued today.
MCX introduced Cardamom futures contracts on February 14, 2006.
So far the exchange has attracted 2,871 trades valued at 75.37 crore, with an average daily volume of around 460 quintals. A volume of 2229 quintals was recorded on April 28, this year.
Currently May 06, June 06 and July 06 contracts are available for trading on MCX. The exchange has plans to increase the number of contracts in cardamom to meet the hedging requirements of farmers and traders in cardamom during the ensuing 2006-07 cardamom season starting July 2006.
