Maoists set three RTC buses on fire

Written by: Staff

Ongole, May 3 (UNI) Three Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) buses were set on fire by CPI(Maoists) late last night near Mallapalem village of Pullalacheruvu Mandal in Prakasham District.

Police said eight naxals stopped the three Hyderabad-bound buses of Kanigiri, Giddalur and Markapuram depots in the district and torched them.

The naxals poured diesel on the buses and also broke their diesel tanks. They left behind a letter saying the arson was in retaliation to 'fake encounters' in Kadapa, Mahbubnagar and Prakasham districts.
