Mahajan's cremation takes place tomorrow

Mumbai, May 3 (UNI) The mortal remains of senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, who died of gunshot wounds here this afternoon 12 days after he was shot point-blank allegedly by his younger brother Pravin, will be consigned to flames at Shivaji Park cremation ground in the city tomorrow.

State BJP president Nitin Gadkari said the funeral procession will start at 1000 hrs tomorrow from the residence of the 56-year-old leader at Worli where he was shot at in his 15th floor apartment at Poorna building on April 22.

After the post-mortem this evening, Mr Mahajan's body will be taken to the State BJP headquarters at Nariman Point to enable partymen and well-wishers to pay tributes to the departed leader.

Late in the night, the body will be taken to his residence at Worli, Mr Gadkari said.

He said BJP former President L K Advani will arrive here at 2000 hrs, while party president Rajnath Singh is scheduled to reach at 2200 hrs. Tomorrow, he said, the Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled States, besides other VIPs, will reach here for the cremation.
