JSW Steel hikes price

Mumbai, May 3: JSW Steel Ltd, one of the largest steel producers in India, announced a hike in price of HR coils by Rs 1,750 per tonne. For the Galvanized products the price has been hiked by Rs 2,000 per tonne. The hike is effective May 1, 2006, according to a release issued today.

MVS Seshagiri Rao, Director Finance said,''Keeping in line with the international trend, we at JSW steel have decided to increase the price both for the HR coils and Galvanized products. Also Zinc continues its upward climb without respite on the LME.''
