New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) Hundreds of slogan-shouting activists of Hindu organisations rallied in the capital today in protest against the killing of 35 Hindus in insurgency-wracked Jammu and Kashmir.

Police stopped the protestors outside Parliament Street police station as they marched towards Rashtrapati Bhawan from the protest venue at Jantar Mantar.

A five-member delegation later handed over a memorandum with the President's office demanding enhanced protection to Hindus in J and K. It also opposed the Government-initiated dialogue process with Kashmiri separatist groups, including the visiting Hurriyat leaders.

Earlier, state leaders of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, the Arya Sabha, the Bajrang Dal, the Hindu Mahasabha, the Shiv Sena and the Agarwal Samaj were among those who addressed the protest meet at Jantar Mantar.
