Fire claims three lives, several houses gutted

Saharsa, May 03 (UNI) Three people, including two women, died in fire that broke out at Dhanpura village under Simri- Bakhtiarpur police station of Saharsa district last night.

Police said the fire erupted while they were cooking. The fire soon spread to nearby areas reducing 63 houses into ashes while three people also lost their lives.

Senior officers of the district administration have rushed to the spot to supervise distribution of relief materilas to the victims.

The exact value of property damaged in the fire was being assessed.
