Delhi govt committed to develop schools: Dr Walia
New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) Delhi Urban Development and Finance Minister A K Walia today said Delhi government is committed to develop schools and its buildings in the national capital.
Laying the foundations stone of a senior secondary school building in Shastri Nagar areas of North Delhi, he said there would be no dearth of money for development of education and educational institutions.
Dr Walia said Public Works Department was leaving no stone unturned in making Delhi a world-class city and added that PWD would play an important role in the preparations for 2010 Commonwealth Games.
The minister also appealed to the denizens to join hands with the state government to make the city green and beautiful.
Construction of the school in Shastri Nagar was slated to be completed within 15 months with an estimated cost of Rs 6.50 crore.
Local MP Jagdish Tytler and local MLA Shadi Ram were also present on the occasion.
