New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxists) has expressed serious concern over the re-emergence of communal violence at Vadodara in Gujarat.

The party urged the Centre to take immediate steps to ensure that the administration protects the minorities and security forces are deployed for this purpose.

The Polit Bureau, in a statement issued here, reiterated its concern over the events in Vadodara.

Despite the clear warning given by the events of the demolition of the 'dargah', the administration has not taken any initiative, the statement added.

''In fact, they have allowed the mobs to attack and brutally kill a person in his car and colonies are being threatened. These are the same areas which had witnessed the 2002 communal riots in the State.

The administration is refusing to take action against these communal forces,'' the statement said.
