Case filed against BJP candidate in liquor case
Pondicherry, May 3 (UNI) Police have registered cases against a BJP candidate for storing liquor bottles in a farm house here for distribution among the electorate during the elections.
According to Deputy Collector (Excise) R Anbazhagan, excise and police, on a tip-off, raided a farm house at Karuvadikuppam last night owned by a close relative of the candidate Kalyanasundaram and seized 25 crates, containing 1200 IMFL bottles worth Rs 20,000.
The watchman of the farm house, Rajaseker was arrested, and on interrogation, he revealed that Mr Kalyanasundaram had stored the bottles there.
Cases under the Excise Act and Representation of Peoples Act had been registered against Mr Kalyanasundaram.
