Abducted Engineer died of Malaria

Guwahati, May 03 (UNI) The Chief Engineer of Assam PWD, who was kidnapped and released by the ULFA militants last month, died in Guwahati Medical College(GMC) following prolonged cerebral malaria.

Police said the ULFA kinapped him from his residence for extortion purpose. They released him after he was affected by malaria and the outfit got him admitted to a local private hospital under disguise.

He was later rescued by the Assam Police and admitted to GMC in a critical condition where he died . His death was condoled by Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.
