Doctors provided armed security after violence in SSG hospital
Vadodara, May 2 (UNI) Doctors attending to the riot victims at the SSG civil hospital here were provided armed security after the Junior Doctors' Association (JDA) today strongly protested against yesterday's incidents in which several of them were allegedly manhandled and physically abused by mob.
In a memorandum to the medical superintendent, association president Dr Dhiren Thakkar took strong exception to yesterday's incident at the SSG hospital by people accompanying the victims of the riots, and demanded safe environment and steps to ensure safety of each and every hospital staff.
Describing the incident as ''inhuman and disgraceful'', the JCA criticised the medical authorities for withdrawing the security forces from the emergency ward from March 31 this year.
Following the incident, the authorities today deployed four armed security guards at the Emergency ward, where most of the victims of the riots were admitted.
