CP demands inquiry into Vadodara firing
New Delhi, May 2: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) today demanded a high-level inquiry into the police firing and violence in Vadodara that left five people dead.
CPI (M) Polit Bureau, which condemned the firing, blamed the city administration for ''mishandling'' the issue of removal of a dargah in the name of clearing a road.
''This has caused apprehensions amongst the minority community and unnecessary tension in the area,'' said a statement issued by the Polit Bureau.
The Narendra Modi government, ''known for its insensitivity in handling such issues'', must desist from taking any steps that will further aggravate the situation, it said.
