Suryanaryana's second wife seeks assistance

Hyderabad, May 1: A woman claiming to be the second wife of K Suryanarayana, who was executed by Taliban in Afghanistan, today urged the government to provide assistance to her and her eight-month baby girl Nitisha.

Speaking to newpersons here, Ms Swapna said she got married to Suryanarayana about four years ago and he was the sole bread winner for the family.

She neither had financial support from her parents nor any assets to support her family.

Claiming that Suryanarayna's family members were not allowing her to attend the funeral rites, Ms Swapna said she wanted to look at the dead body of her husband which will be brought here this evening.

Meanwhile, Ms Swapna called on Cyberabad Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sowmya Mishra and sought her help for attending the funeral. Soon after the meeting, the police officer told reporters that Ms Swapna could not produce any documentary evidence in support of their marriage.

Ms Swapna pleaded that her eight-month-old daughter should be considered as Suryanarayana's child and necessary relief provided.
