Mirwaiz to lead Hurriyat team at talks with PM

Srinagar, May 1: Moderate Hurriyat Conference Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will lead a six-member amalgam delegation at the talks with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi on May 3.

The other members of the Hurriyat delegation are Prof Abdul Ghani Bhat, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Bilal Ghani Lone, Fazal Haq Qureshi and Aga Syed Hassan.

The names were announced by the Mirwaiz after a marathon five- hour-long meeting of the Executive Council, the Working Committee and the General Council at the amalgam headquarters here.

The high-profile delegation comprised of all the six members of Executive Council, the highest decision-making body of the Hurriyat Conference.
