Islamic Conference flays Suryanarayan's murder
New Delhi, Apr 30: The All India Islamic Conference today condemned the killing of Indian engineer Suryanarayan in Afghanistan, and sought Army action against the Taliban-dominated areas in the neighbouring country.
Conference President Shakeel Ahmad Sheri said in a statement here that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should take up the issue with the United Nation Secretary General.
He demanded a compensation of Rs 25 lakh for the family of the slain engineer whose beheaded body was found near Gazni early today.
Mr Sheri urged the Afghanistan government to take special measures to ensure the safety and security of Indians who were working for the reconstruction of war-ravaged Afghanistan.
