Widening of major roads in Trans Yamuna to be expedited

New Delhi, Apr 28 (UNI) With an eye on the 2010 Commonwealth Games all important roads in East Delhi will undergo a major change.

Delhi Urban Development and Public Works Department Minister A K Walia was issued time-bound instructions for widening and strengthening of major roads apart from starting actual construction work of around ten mega projects relating to construction of flyovers, railway over bridges and railway under bridges and grade separators.

Dr Walia along with local MP Sandeep Dikshit, PWD Chief Engineer and Municipal Corporation of Delhi's Chief Engineer visited a number of roads and sites of flyover projects in the area.

The minister further instructed PWD Chief Engineer to get the necessary approvals expedited as all the projects were to be commissioned well before the commencement of the Commonwealth Games.
