Undertrial prisoner escapes from hospital
Chennai, Apr 28 (UNI) An undertrial prisoner admitted to Government General Hospital here today gave a slip to the police and managed to escape.
Police said the prisoner Arasakulanathan, a Sri Lankan Tamil settled in London, was arrested in connection with a drug trafficking case by the narcotic control Bureau and lodged at the central prison here.
He was admitted to the hospital a month ago for appendicitis operation. This morning he managed to jump out of the window of the room in spite of heavy bundobust.
A special team has been constituted to nab the prisoner, police said.
