Two police officers shot dead in Moscow
Moscow, Apr 28 (UNI) Unidentified gunmen of a suspected organised crime group shot dead two police officers on Kirovogradskaya Street, in southern Moscow.
RIA Novosti news agency said quoting a city police department source that the officers came under fire from an automatic weapon as they entered an apartment, after receiving a call that a burglary was being committed.
''The attackers are members of a Moscow-based organised crime group of ethnic Georgians,'' the source said, adding that the gang had been raiding the apartment as part of a war between crime groups feuding over economic interests.
The source said the killers left the apartment through a window.
No casualties among members of the Armenian family owning the apartment had been reported.
