Troops arrest 2 Pak nationals, recover cache of ammunition

Jammu, Apr 28 (UNI) Security forces arrested two Pakistani nationals, nabbed a militants' aide and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from a hideout, at separate places in the region last evening, sources today said.

Official sources said the troops arrested two Pakistani nationals, who had crossed over to this side of the Line of Control (LoC) from Conical Post in Manjakote area of Rajouri district.

The duo have been identified as Gul Karim Shahid, 31, and Mohammed Khan, 20, both residents of Peshawar, Pakistan, sources said, adding that nothing incriminating was recovered from their possession and it was believed that they had crossed the LoC by mistake.

However, they were being questioned.

Meanwhile, security forces arrested one Mohd Sharief Khatana, resident of Maghasal and recovered some clothes from his possession, which he had planned to handover to militants, Abu Sufian, Abu Muslim and Manzoor Ahmed.

In a operation on a tip off, the Army and police recovered 95 packets of black explosive powder, (weighed 40 kg), 90 packets of silver explosive powder, (weighed 1.5 kg) and five pencil cells, from a militant-hideout village in village Kanthali, about 6 km from Mahore, under Reasi police station.

In another major success, security forces recovered one .30 Chinese pistol, 1,050 AK rounds, 180 Pika rounds, three detonators and five China-made hand grenades during a search operation at Dudasan Pain area in Manjakote, Rajouri.
