Train-tractor mishap kills a woman, two injured

Lucknow, Apr 28 (UNI) A woman was killed and two others injured when the Magadh Express train rammed into a tractor trolley at a railway crossing in the Gahmar area of Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh today.

Police said here that Kamli (30) was killed on spot and Umeya Rajbhar and Bahadur Rajbhar were injured when the tractor-trolley they were on was hit by the speeding train near the Bara railway station.

The traffic on the rail route was affected for sometime following the accident.

The gateman of the rail crossing has been detained and a case registered. An ex gratia of Rs 6,000 has been provided by the Railways to the next of the kin of the deceased, while an assistance of Rs 2,500 has been sanctioned to the two injured in the mishap, Government Railway Police sources informed.
