Sterlite Optical reports quantum jump of 683 pc in Q4 net

Mumbai, Apr 28 (UNI) Sterlite Optical Technologies Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 22.40 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 2.86 crore for the same quarter last fiscal, a quantum jump of 683.21 per cent.

Announcing the results, the company said its total income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 115.98 crore in Q4 FY 05 to Rs 146.63 crore for Q4 FY 06. The audited results for the year March 31, 2006.

It has posted a net profit of Rs 40.77 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 10.22 crore for the last fiscal. Total income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 332.05 crore in FY 05 to Rs 566.83 crore for FY 06.

The board has recommended a dividend at the rate of 10 per cent for the year subject to approval of the shareholders.
