Smallest booth, but conditions difficult

Kochi, Apr 28 (UNI) Just five km off Kerala's commercial hub, Raman Thuruth with just 15 voters will be the smallest booth in Central Kerala going to polls tomorrow.

The hamlet surrounded by water is proving to be one of the most untrekkable terrains for polling officials from the mainland. They got a taste of it on their way.

The policemen accompanying the poll team faced a tough time tracing their wireless handsets which slipped and fell into the water during their tight-rope walk down the narrow lane between the lakes.

Five polling officials, one security personnel and one NCC cadet were deputed to man the station. After collecting the polling materials, they reached the spot this afternoon.
