Shrikant Bhatt appointed as Special PP in Mahajan attack case

Mumbai, Apr 28 (UNI) The Maharashtra government has appointed noted criminal lawyer Shirkant Bhatt as the Special Public Prosecutor in the case of attack on BJP general secretary Pramod Mahajan by his youngest brother Pravin on April 22.

Additional Chief Secretary (Home) A P Sinha confirmed the appointment, saying that the noticiation was issued yesterday.

Mr Mahajan, who was shot at from a point blank range by his brother at the former's Worli residence, continues to battle with life on life support systems, even as three bullets are still embedded inside.

His condition, though termed as 'stable', continues to be cricial on the seventh day. He continues to be monitored round-the-clock by a panel of doctors at the P D Hinduja Hospital.
