Scores injured in building collapse at Silvassa, rescue work on

Silvassa, Dadra&Nagar Haveli, Apr 28 (UNI) Scores of workers are suspected to have been injured as the three-storeyed Fire Station Building here collapsed on them when centering work was on for the third storey roof here this afternoon.

Police said even as bulldozers and cranes have been requisitioned to begin rescue work, the contractor has fled the scene.

Most of the workers suspected to be trapped under the debris were on the third floor when the building collapsed. The exact casualty could be ascertained only after the rescue team could remove the debris, police added.
