Salem, four others chargesheeted in Jain murder case

Mumbai, Apr 28 (UNI) Extradited gangster Abu Salem and four others have been charge-sheeted by Mumbai police today in the Pradeep Jain murder case of 1995.

The prosecution today submitted a 365-page charge-sheet in the court of special TADA (Terrorist and Disruptive Activities) court Judge P V Bavkar and the copies of the same were also given to the accused present in the court.

Salem and others have been charged with murder (302), attempt to murder (307), extortion (384), house tresspass (452), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 120 (b) IPC and section 5&27 of the Arms Act, section 3 (2), (3), (5) and 5 of TADA.

Other four accused in the murder of builder Pradeep Jain are Riyaz Ahmed Siddique, Mohd Naeem Abdul Rahim, Mohd Hasan Mehendi Hasan and Virendrakumar Bidarilal Jhamba.

Pradeep Jain murder case is one of the two cases probed by the Crime Branch on the basis of which Salem was extradited from Portugal.

The other case was that of Ajit Diwani murder.
