Online MIS for stock position in all NE FCI depots
Aizawl, Apr 28 (UNI) With the aim to upgrade the civil supply services in the NE region, Ministry of Consumer Affairs has undertaken a new project of computerisation and networking of all the depots, regional, zonal offices and headquarters of Food Corporation of India (FCI) at Delhi.
The project would see to that there would be an online Management Information System (MIS), which will give the stock position in any depot of the FCI at any given point of time, FCI official sources here today said.
The estimated for the new Integrated Information System for Foodgrains Management (IISFM) software would be Rs one crore.
The total money would be spent for providing hardware and software to all the FCI depots across the region, besides installing virtual private connectivity at 19 locations of FCI such as Zonal office (NE), Regional offices (Assam and Shillong), District offices Aizawl, Imphal, Kohima, Badardeva -- Arunachal, Bongaigaon, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Jorhat, Kokrajhar, Nagaon, North Lakhimpur, Silchar, Tejpur -- all in Assam, Agartala and Shillong.
Apart from this Rs 15 lakh would be used for the training of staff on implementing IISFM project through computer at 60 locations in the region.
Latest financial accounting software would also be installed at all FCI locations in NE at the cost of Rs 31 lakhs, the official sources added.
