Muslim cleric held for murder

Sikar, Apr 28 (UNI) A Muslim cleric has been arrested here in connection with murder of two people.

The police said the arrest yesterday has helped solve the murder that occurred in Sabalpur area of one Sikar on April 24. The body of a youth was found in the area on the same day. A diary was found next to the body.

The police, after perusing lead from the diary, zeroed in on Maulavi Nizammudin of Bilaal mosque in Jaipur's Bhatta basti, who confessed to killing Shahzad, along with accomplice Mubin for a sum of Rs 5,000. Shahzad was a resident of Agra.

During questioning, Nizammudin also confessed to killing 50-year-old Zeenat on March 8 this year after a dispute. He said the body was later dumped in Vidyadhar Nagar area in Jaipur.
