Mayawati to campaign for TN assembly polls

Tiruchirapalli, Apr 28 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) President and former Chief Minister Mayawati will undertake a six-day election tour in Tamil Nadu to campaign for the BSP-led alliance partners for the May eight assembly elections.

In a press release here today, Suresh Mane, National Secretary of BSP and Coordinator for Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Pondicherry said Ms Mayawati will begin her whirlwind campaign from Srivilliputhur on May one and will tour South and North Tamil Nadu.

Mr Mane said BSP is contesting 168 seats in Tamil Nadu ,107 in Kerala and 16 in Pondicherry.

For the first time, a Dalit-based party has entered in a big way in South, he added.
