Manipur CM vows to fight against insurgency
Imphal, Apr 28 (UNI) Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today said he will continue to fight against the insurgents even if his life was threatened.
Speaking during a function on hiv/aids at the Congress office here, Mr Ibobi revealed that he was under threat from the insurgents. He added he will continue the fight against the militants whatever be the outcome.
He said he understood that he could not remain protected in bullet proof cars within a protective wall for all the time, but he was making the sacrifice in the interest of the people.
The Congress had completed four years in office and after about seven months elections would be held he added. His government was the only government in the last two decades to have a zero deficit budget, he added.
He further said lots of work had to be done in the state as the interior areas were not properly connected by roads and there were no medical facilities. He appealed to all to help in developing the interior areas of the state.
