Mahajan being taken abroad for treatment are rumours, says son

Mumbai, Apr 28 (UNI) Rahul, the son of grievously wounded BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, today dubbed as rumours that his father is being taken abroad for treatments for multiple injuries he suffered on April 22 when he was shot at point-blank range by his brother Pravin.

During a brief interaction with mediapersons while escorting actor Sanjay Dutt from the Hinduja hospital where Mr Mahajan is battling for life on life-support system, Rahul said, ''These are all rumours...I have no idea about it,'' when asked if the 56-year-old BJP leader was being taken abroad for treatment.

Asked if he was satisfied with the treatment being given to him at Hinduja, he quipped ''Yes, we are satisfied with the treatment.'' Earlier, BJP president Rajnath Singh had stated Mr Mahajan could be taken abroad for treatement, only on the advice of doctors who have been treating him at the Hinduja hospital. The party would bear all expediture in the event of his treatment abroad, he had said.
