Kashmiri terrorist in police remand till May 5

Mumbai, Apr 28 (UNI) A Kashmiri terrorist, who was arrested by the anti-terrorist squad (ATS) of the Mumbai Police from Gulmarg on April 22 and brought to Mumbai, was today remanded in police custody till May five.

ATS Senior Inspector Sunil Deshmukh told UNI that accused Shami Ahmed Abdul Gaffar Shah was arrested for his alleged involvement in a conspiracy to spread terror in the metropolis.

Mr Deshmukh said Shah was associated with Masruddin Sallauddin Siddique from Virar in the neighbouring Thane district and Mansoor Mohammed Ansari, a Napali national, who were arrested on January 30 from Lokmya Tilak Terminus, Kurla, in North East Mumbai. The ATS had seized one kg of 'high quality explosives' and two weapons from their possession.

Shah has had weapons training in Pakistan alongwith Siddique.

He was produced before 46th Metropolitan Magistrate at Mazgaon court this afternoon, who remanded him to police custody till May five.
