HP to seek Israeli technology for rural sector: CM
Shimla, Apr 28 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said the state was willing to take advantage of Israel's technological advancement for its rural sector as the state's economy was primarily agriculture-driven.
''Himachal has made spectacular achievements since its inception in 1948 and had much to offer to investors and visitors,'' he told Israel's Ambassador to India David Danieli when he called on him yesterday.
Mr Singh said natural wealth was available in abundance in the state but the government was encouraging only those industrial units, which were committed to take all the necessary environmental safeguards.
Efforts were on to provide green cover for a vast stretch of high altitude area in the state, he said, while seeking Israeli technology in this regard.
Dr Danieli apprised the chief minister of all round progress and development that had taken place in Isreal and the services provided by it to other countries, saying mutual cooperation strengthened bilateral relationship between the countries.
