Hindustan Zinc Q4 net jumps 250 pc to Rs 802 cr

Mumbai, April 28: Hindustan Zinc Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 802 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, as compared to Rs 229 crore for the corresponding quarter in the previous year, a jump of 250.21 per cent.

Announcing the results, the company said its total income has increased by 137.97 per cent to Rs 1,811 crore for Q4 FY 05-06 from Rs 761 crore in Q4 FY 04-05.

It has posted 122.69 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 1,472 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 661 crore in the previous fiscal.

Total Income has increased by 70.86 per cent to Rs 3,993 crore for FY 05-06 from Rs 2,337 crore in FY 04-05.

The board of directors has recommended a dividend at the rate of 25 per cent--Rs 2.50 per equity share of Rs 10 each.
