Heritage museum in Kurukshetra
Chandigarh, Apr 28 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today exhorted the people to make sustained efforts in preserving the rich cultural heritage of the state while adopting the good qualities of other cultures as well.
Haryana has a great culture and historical heritage which should be preserved and protected at all cost, Mr Hooda said while speaking at a national seminar on ''Society, Cultural and Economy in Haryana: Continuity and Change'' at Kurukshetra today.
He earlier dedicated to the people the 'Dharohar Museum' set up by the Kurukshetra University at its campus to mark its Golden Jubilee celebrations.
The Chief Minister also honoured 29 persons including the former Chief Minister of Haryana Hukam Singh and others who had donated a treasure of ancient valuable and important artefacts, excavations, manuscripts, painting, monuments and rare objects of ancient culture, life and history of Haryana.
Mr Rajbir Deswal, S.P. Vigilance, presented two books written by him on the culture and life of Haryana to the Chief Minister for the museum.
