Four persons killed in road mishap in Tripura

Agartala, Apr 28 : Four labourers of a brick field, including two children and a woman, were killed and 15 others injured in a road accident in Tripura's North Tripura district yesterday under Pecharthal police station.

According to police sources here, about 15 labourers travelling in a jeep from Kanchanpur to Kumarghat collided with a lorry coming from opposite direction on the NH No 44 at Sidhangchara killing three on the spot.

A child died on way to hospital. All the remaining 15 injured were admitted to hospital. The condition of some of them stated to be serious.

The labourers were working in a Brick field at Kanchanpur and the accident occurred on their way to their native home in Jharkhand.

The driver of the lorry, however, fled the scene soon after the accident. Police was searching for the driver.
