EC files submissions in HC on Exit polls
Kochi, Apr 28 (UNI) The Election Commission of India(ECI) today submitted before Kerala High Court that it has suggested imposition of restrictions on publishing poll surveys for a specified period during election process, including exit poll results.

The Commission further submitted that a writ petition challenging the validity of exit polls was pending consideration before the Supreme Court and the Commission would be bound by the decision of the Apex Court.
The EC made its submissions on a PIL filed by a UDF worker, Shameemm Poovath of Mattancherry, seeking to prohibit the media from announcing exit poll results before completing polling in all the constituencies.
