Delhi records Max of 40.5 degrees Celsius, Min of 24.6
New Delhi, Apr 28 (UNI) Delhi today witnessed yet another day of scorching heat with the maximum temperature recording 40.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 24.6 degrees Celsius.
While the maximum was three degrees above normal, the minimum surpassed the normal by two degrees.
Yesterday, the maximum was 41 degrees Celsius and the minimum 24.3 degree C.
Adding to the sultry conditions were duststorms and hot surface winds which forced many people to stay indoors.
The conditions could prevail in the coming days with the weather office forecasting a partly cloudy sky and more dust and thunder storms with squalls in some areas over the next 24 hours.
The rising trend in mercury is due to the dissipation of the Upper air cyclonic movement that had contributed to pleasant weather in Delhi in the second week of April.
The Upper air cyclonic storm, originating from Rajasthan, had moved away from the Capital since April 21, setting off a series of dry winds across the capital.
