CPI remains stationary in March
Shimla, Apr 28 (UNI) All India Consumer Price Index (CPI) Number (base 2001=100) for March this fiscal remained stationary at 199 points, sources in the labour bureau today said.
The indices in 19 centres recorded a decrease of one to three points, while remained stationary at 27 centres.
The sources said the indices recorded an increase of one point each in Nagpur, Angul, Jalpaiguri, Bhopal, Raniganj, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Agro, Amritsar, Yamunanagar, Kanpur, Jaipur, Sholapur, Monghyr Jamalpur, Bhavnagar, Pune, Siliguri, Kolkata, Durgapur, Bokaro, Rourkela and Lucknow centers, and two points each in Jharia, Goa, Mariani-Jorhat, Doom Dooma Tinsukia, Rangapara, Tezpur, Giridiuh, Himachal Pradesh, Bhilai, Vadodra and Delhi Centres.
Jharia, Goa, Mariani-Jorhat, Doom-Dooma Tinsukia, Rangapara,Trezpur, Giridih, HP, Bhilai, Vadodra and Delhi centres experienced the maximum increase of two points each, the sources said.
The rise in indices in Jharia centre was due to increase in the prices of rice, arhar dal, goat meat, fresh fish, vegetable and fruits, whereas the increase in Goa was due to increase in the prices of goat meat, fresh fish and snacks.
