Cong MLA levels serious allegations against Reddy
Nalgonda, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 28 (UNI) Congress MLA from Tunguturi constituency Ramareddy Damodar Reddy has alleged that he faced a threat to his life from the state Home Minister K Jana Reddy.
Mr Damodar Reddy, who went underground for three days discarding his security personnel surfaced yesterday and made this allegation speaking to newsperson after attending the 'Praja Padham' programme launched by the Chief Minister yesterday.
He alleged that the Home Minister, who also hails from this district was using the police to torture him mentally.
He alleged that the Home Minister had tried in vain to link him to Moddu Srinu, one of the main accused in the murder of Telugu Desam Party MLA Paritala Ravindra last year.
He also alleged that the Home Minister who could not match his political popularity, sought the help of the district Superintendent of Police Mahesh Muralidhar and withdrew security to him.
The MLA also alleged that while six Congress workers were brutally killed in the district after Jana Reddy became the Home Minister, the police, instead of taking action against the murderers, were acting as if they supported them.
Responding to the allegation of the MLA late in the night at a press conference in Miryalaguda town, Home Minister Jana Reddy said if there were any problems they could be sorted out through discussions.
He denied that he was against the MLA or had done anything to harm his life or interests.
