China many at UN want diplomatic solution on Iran

UNITED NATIONS, Apr 28 (Reuters) China's UN ambassador today said that almost all Security Council members wanted a diplomatic solution to Iran's nuclear crisis.

''There are a lot of problems in the region and we should not do anything that would cause the situation to become even more complicated,'' Chinese envoy Wang Guangya said when asked whether Beijing would support sanctions on Iran based on an International Atomic Energy Agency report finding that Tehran had ignored the council's call for a halt to its nuclear activities.
