Bharti Tele net slumps 57.73 pc to Rs 511.24 cr

Mumbai, April 28: Bharti Tele Ventures Ltd has posted 57.73 per cent decrease in net profit after tax to Rs 511.24 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 1,209.56 crore for the corresponding quarter in the previous year.

Announcing the results, the company said its total revenue has decreased by 58.40 per cent to Rs 3,290.41 crore for Q4 FY 05-06 from Rs 7,911.36 crore in Q4 FY 04-05.

It has posted 66.19 per cent increase in net profit after tax to Rs 2,012.07 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006, as compared to Rs 1,210.68 crore in the previous fiscal. Total Revenue has increased by 42.12 per cent to Rs 11,290.58 crore for FY 05-06 from Rs 7,944.19 crore in FY 04-05.

The Consolidated results as per Indian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (IGAAP), the Group has posted 40.21 per cent increase in profit to Rs 506.79 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, as compared to Rs 361.44 crore in the corresponding quarter in the earlier year.

Total Income has increased by 46.11 per cent to Rs 3410.25 crore for Q4 FY 05-06 from Rs 2334.0 crore in Q4 FY 04-05.

The Group has posted 67.38 per cent increase in profit for the period Rs 2,027.95 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006, as compared to Rs 1,211.57 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005.

Total Income has increased by 43.76 per cent to Rs 11,725.49 crore for FY 05-06 from Rs 8,155.78 crore in FY 04-05.
