3 killed, 14 injured in road accident at Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Apr 28 (UNI) Three people were killed and 14 others injured when their tempo turned turtile at Waghbil ghat section on Kolhapur-Ratnagiri state highway, 14km away from here, today.

Police sources said the victims, who hailed from Marathewadi hamlet close to Boriwade village in Panhala tehsil of this district, were on their way to Pirachiwadi in Karvir tehsil, when the accident occurred.

The deceased have been identified as Sangeeta Rajaram Shinde(35), Divya (5), wife and daughter of the tempo owner Rajaram Pandurang Shinde and another girl Kajal Ashok Marathe (5), daughter of te tempo driver Ashok Marathe the sources added.

Both Rajaram and Ashok were among the injured.

All the injured have been admitted to the Chhatrapati Pramila Raje civil hospital here where the condition of three of them stated to be serious, hospital sources said.
