UNICEF gets threatening email in UP

Lucknow, Apr 27 (UNI) The UNICEF office in the Uttar Pradesh capital today received a threatening email, warning of an attack at its premises.

Addressing newspersons here this evening, UP principal secretary (Home) S K Agarwal said security had been ramped up at the UNICEF office.

He informed state DGP Bua Singh had been asked to take immediate steps to neutralise threat in this regard, if any.

Mr Agarwal said the email did not mention the sender's name or organisation.

He said the email warned that organisations functioning with the help of the US would be targetted.

A probe is underway.
