Two snake charmers jailed for keeping live pythons

New Delhi, Apr 27 (UNI) A city court has sent two snake charmers to jail after they were caught with two live pythons.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjiv Jain yesterday send Lakhan and Kapil Nath to judicial custody till May 10.

The duo had been caught along with the snakes from Dharampur area of Najafgarh in South West Delhi.

The pythons will be first taken to animal SOS centre in South Delhi for medical check up before they would be released in a snake park 'Sur Sarowar' in Agra.

On April 18, the court had send a woman, Ompati, to judicial custody till May 1 for possessing 89 live Indian Soft Shelled Turtles.

The judge had ordered releasing the turtles in river Yamuna.

She has also been caught from Najafgarh.
