TN Nadar Peravai pledges support to DPA in assembly elections

Chennai, Apr 27 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Nadar Peravai today pledged support to the DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) for the May eight assembly elections in the State.

Led by Peravai President N R Dalapalan, office bearers of all the district units in the state called on DMK President M Karunanidhi at DMK headquarters, Anna Arivalayam today and offered to campaign for the DPA, a DMK release here said.

DMK Treasurer Arcot N Veerasamy, Union Environment Minister A Raja and DMK Organising Secretary T K S Elangovan were present on the occasion.

The Peravai's support to the DMK assumed significance in the backdrop of Actor Sarath Kumar, hailing from the dominant Nadar community in southern districts, quitting the DMK and joining the ruling AIADMK two weeks ago.
