Test for some, fun for the rest
Kolkata, Apr 27 (UNI) While the political parties and poll pundits were racking their brains over the third phase of polling in West Bengal, it was simply a holiday for many.
While people were seen riding ponnies and even enjoying a buggy-ride around Victoria Memorial here, there were others who had scheduled cricket matches for the day. One Ravi Kumar said, ''It's a holiday for us. We are in class 12 and have planned a cricket match.'' For an elderly gentleman, a calm and quiet city and a walk around the greens was the best way to utilise the day.
Deserted roads and occasional wheezing past of a police vehicle or a press car gave a picture of a public holiday.
Meanwhile, in many areas, people arranged community kitchens to spend the day together in fun and frolic.
